  Faders Needing a Great One Liner

  so our family fade is well under way.

  we changed congregations as regular attenders and left in good standing with those giving hugs and kisses simply knowing we "needed a change".

  we moved to a neighboring congregation that is out of our original region knowing we would see no one and the two boe's wouldn't really have immediate dealings.

  Maybe try saying you missed so.many meetings because (make something up) or life got in the way but now you no longer recognise the religion as the one you once belonged to. The "truth" being taught now compared to the "truth" you taught has changed so much you need time to study and catch up. By the way, can you explain the over lapping generation thing cos I am really having a problem with that one. (Substitute overlapping generation for blood fractions, the resurrection of Sodom and Gomorah or any other doctrine you know they have flip flopped on).

  I am faded in a new town too (only 8 miles from my old cong) but still not bumped into anyone I know in almost 10 years.

  Serious Problems Between Elders

  ever encountered or eyewitnessed problems escalating, arguements and rows between elders right at the kh anyone?.

  one such experience was just before the meeting was about to start,we heard raised voices from the second room between two elders.

  a minute later two other elders went into the room and we could all hear that they were trying to cool the situation down with whatever was going on in there.

  That's some list of dishonest Jehovah's Witnesses.

  I don't think the ones I knew were on that scale but there was certainly scandal regarding "missing money" with one elder and tax fraud with the other (his father).

  There were 3 large families all originally from Carlisle who moved first to Tenerife and then all 3 gradually moved themselves and their businesses over to Fuerteventura which was just beginning to become popular. One family imported British food and opened a shop, one family distributed British food to shops, the airport and hotels (that's the business I bought and discovered they had been running it illegally for 10 years) and the second generation a brother and sister set up an estate agency offering 110% mortgages in off plan properties that were never built and people's deposits went missing.

  I have no idea why but all 3 of our elders got a 6 month timeout and did nothing in the congregation while 3 elders from other congregations took over.

  The only thing I was aware of was the elders got approval for the new KH by lying about how many of us lived closer to the potential new hall than the shared hall. That was 2005. It has since been sold and they are back sharing again at the original hall.

  I've since made friends with an ex witness from their original hall in Carlisle in UK and she was aware they committed fraud while living in Spain.

  i never fully realized it until i was just about out.

  i adopted the attitude that “if mother says so, mother knows best!”.

  it took me a long time to conclude they were actually a cult.

  I felt controlled towards the end. Maybe because by then I was older than most of the elders and MSs and had run my own home and business but being female was supposed to be obedient to males still living with their Mummy. A 21 year old telling me what fabrics my girl's skirts could or could not to be made of peed me right off.

  I had been out of full time work 6 months and was surviving on 2 part time jobs and money was getting tight. A job came up but it meant working every Sunday til 2pm. I took the job and was told by another "child," I was compromising my faith by not waiting for a job that didn't mean working on Sundays.

  Are Jehovah’s Witnesses as “Ministers” Teachers?

  all jws are supposed to be “ ministers”.

  i would think that anyone that is considered a minister should have immense knowledge of their religion and should be able to teach anyone who inquires of the teachings.

  my understanding is that most witnesses cannot explain even basic teachings without difficulty.

  They get out their mobile phones and direct you to their website to answer any questions asked now.

  I'm guessing that's what they are instructed to do as perhaps only those with accurate knowledge of how the cult operates actually approach them and the org. knows JW beliefs crumble very quickly under expert scrutiny.

  i faded from the religion and simply didn’t go back.

  once people understood that my family and i left, people in the congregation didn’t know what to do.

  should they call me, visit me, leave me alone?

  It bothers me that wherever I go these days there seems to be at least one cart on route to wherever I am going.

  Yesterday 2 of them categorically lied about shunning and denied their religion practices it.

  If Angels in the Bible are of neuter gender ? Then why are they always depicted as males by description and name ? And never a female ?

  in all of the art i`ve seen in christendom, angels always have the form of a male, and in the bible those that are named always have a male name such as michael ,gabriel , etc, .

  nowhere in the art world that i have seen do angels have the female form, and in the bible they don`t have female names.. so if the angels are neither male or female why then are they depicted as males with male names ?and not female also ?.

  the watchtower illustrators also follow this line .when they illustrate an angel it is always in the form of a male and never a female form.. the anointed who make up the 144000 comprise of male and females right ?

  Even if not genderless just celibate I always wondered why when such angels took human form they supposedly all took male bodies and had relations with women. Did none take a female form to have their wicked way with a man. If not why not?

  thanks for reading (i'm sorry this is a little bit of a sensitive topic, though i'll try to be gentle.).

  a little back story.

  i have been working so hard to build my faith this year, and i am finally at the point where i am beginning to trust god and i want to build an unbreakable relationship with him.

  Honest opinion?

  If I was your girlfriend and was shown what you had just written about me I would run a mile from you.

  Learn to stand on your own two feet (without an imaginary friend) stop judging her and appreciate her for the person she is now not her past.

  Is she already JW or will you spend the rest of your lives together with you trying to convert her so you can progress up their hierarchical ladder so you can have higher status within the religion.

  If she doesn't convert what about children. No Xmas or birthdays if you are head of household. If she's the head they will have them.

  Ask your girl friend to come on here so she can be forewarned about what her life would be like if she marries a JW.

  Wishing you all the best but please, please research jwfacts and stop going behind your girlfriend's back informing total strangers about her past. She may not be comfortable with that at all and it is also a good indication of your own character (trying not to be judgmental) the fact that you did this to your potential wife!

  Perhaps you would be better asking us here whether we think you are suitable husband material for her?

  Does anybody have any idea how many ex JW sites their are around the world ?

  in a conversation i had with a jw at the door some time ago he mentioned that their were heaps of apostate websites dishing out false information about jehovah`s witnesses .. i mentioned to him that if they were ex jw`s , so they knew about the religion ,maybe they are trying to tell you something.?.

  it just went over his head and that they all had an axe to grind.. anyway i was just wondering if anybody has done a count as to how many do exist in the whole world ?.

  even approximate guess-timations ?.
